| Having
studied Mechanical Engineering at Bristol University, Giles began
his career in property with Countryside Properties. As a Development
Surveyor for their London and Thames Gateway region, he was responsible
for the future phases of Greenwich Millennium Village in North
Greenwich. This is a mixed-use, sustainable, new community, including
over 2,900 new homes, 20,000 sq ft of commercial space, a community
centre and energy centre. He was also responsible for Buccleuch
House in Hackney; a residential led scheme including 106 apartments
and 46 extra care units. His role also included supporting
the land team in appraising and advising on new opportunities.
In February 2008 Giles left Countryside Properties
to launch Laxton Properties and has led the development of Halton
Brook Business Park, a 100,000 sq ft development on behalf of the
owner occupier, De Soutter Medical. In 2010 the development management
aspects of Laxton Properties and Horstonbridge combined in Horstonbridge
Development Management Ltd.
Outside of work Giles enjoys skiing, sailing and his young family.
